- A Week of Tea, Togetherness & Tranquillity at Destiny - The Farm Resort
Last week reminded us exactly why we love what we do. From 21st to 27th May, Destiny became something unexpected - a place where the simple act of brewing tea sparked conversations, discoveries, and those wonderful moments you can't quite plan for.
The resort turned into a living, breathing love letter to tea. Not just the drink itself, but everything it represents - comfort, community, tradition, and a chance to pause. It captured the very essence of our philosophy at Destiny: hospitality that goes beyond the ordinary.
Beyond the Brew
At Destiny, we have always believed that staying with us should feel like much more than just checking into a room. It's about space - to breathe, to bond, to explore. So when we set out to celebrate International Tea Day, it wasn’t just about serving exceptional tea (though we certainly did that). It was about creating moments that felt meaningful and genuine - an answer to the modern traveller’s quiet longing for authenticity.
Throughout the week, guests joined us for immersive tea experiences: afternoon tastings on the farm, intimate sessions in blending and brewing, and impromptu chats with our chefs and staff, where recipes, stories, and laughter flowed as freely as the tea. The hills echoed with the soft sounds of joy - cups clinking, voices rising, and the comforting hush that follows a truly good sip.
It was less of an event and more of a shared ritual. Personal, grounding, and quietly joyful.
Teas That Stole the Show
Of course, no tea celebration is complete without remarkable teas. And for this special occasion, our chefs went beyond the ordinary to create two signature infusions that delighted the palate and told stories of the land itself. Leading this culinary adventure was K. Balasubramanian, whose 22 years in hospitality and deep understanding of regional flavours brought these blends to life.
The Royal Lavender Ooty Tea was a poetic homage to the Nilgiris. Made from robust black tea leaves grown in these very hills, this blend was elevated with delicate lavender blossoms, adding a floral whisper to the brew, and finished with a drizzle of wild Nilgiri honey, harvested from local hives. A beautiful balance of strength and softness where every sip felt like a quiet exhale.
Then came the Spiced Vanilla Green Elixir - our ode to warmth and wellness. Green tea leaves, gently infused with vanilla pods, cinnamon, and star anise. Comforting, aromatic, and just sweet enough to linger.
These brews were an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and savour something crafted with care and passion.
Steeped in Memory, Stirred by Experience
The guests who joined us for our tea week celebrations have all gone back home now, but we keep hearing from them. Not just polite thank-you messages, but real notes about how they have changed their morning tea routine, or how they have started paying attention to flavours in ways they never did before, or how they have found themselves thinking about the conversations they had here.
This is what we are constantly striving for. Not just a pleasant stay, but something that gently becomes part of how you see the world.
So here's to the simple joy of tea - and to many more shared sips, long conversations, and slow, meaningful moments at Destiny.
