The icing is the last mile journey to DESTINY. I love Destiny, all the more with a close group of friends and relatives.

We stayed in Destiny to celebrate my father's 75th birthday. And it was the perfect venue! The rolling hills and beautiful lakes were the perfect backdrop for a family get-together. The kids had a blast zip-lining, exploring the property and spending time with the rabbits and horses. We took long walks and found places where we could all sit together and enjoy the lovely views (and the piping hot tea and snacks which would appear at the right times).

The rooms were spacious, clean and had all the amenities. The food had good variety, for all the various age-groups. All in all, it was the perfect getaway, and we plan to go back to spend a longer time there!

We, a group of 50+ folks, descended upon this resort in the middle of heavy rains and winds. While the organizing group was nervous about how this would go, the management and the support crew seemed pretty relaxed about it and asked us not to worry. When we were leaving, everybody had had a great time. Let's start with the food - most of their materials is locally sourced and it shows in the quality and taste of the prepared food. Nowhere have I seen real thyme in mushroom soup. Their high tea was another highlight as well - they allow you to choose herbs that they then crush and add boiling tea to it. And there was a gentleman explaining how different teas taste and work. They also recommended combinations that go well.

We had team events on two nights and on both nights, we were making use of their banquet hall - Vishak, a service team member was stationed there to ensure that all of our needs were met. The front desk, the chef and their crew also ensured that all members got a goodie bag with minimal hassle. And on the day of departure, since the majority of us left early in the morning, they arranged for packed breakfast. While we had planned to do a bunch of activities, rain was playing spoilsport big time. Nevertheless, Mr Prithish, their sales and marketing manager, and Mr Shibu, the resort manager were very upbeat and challenged us to try out a few activities - morning walk, long trek, farm activities - saying that these activities are more enjoyable in this kind of weather.

While we were skeptical intially, after the morning walk along the property, we realized how fun it was and a large group was raring to go for the long trek to the Sundance Bungalow. The highlight of these activities was their naturalist, Mr Nachikethan - he helped all of us stay safe and navigate through the heavy rain and 75kph+ winds and explained the flora and fauna in detail. This included some interesting tidbits - from lichen to understanding that pine trees were invasive. Their room service and ferry service from the parking area was operating like clockwork inspite of the crazy weather and the folks were doing it all with a smile. This trip turned out to be a very memorable one for the entire group and everybody would like to do this again!

Rain, Mist and Memories. An Unforgettable Experience
Our stay was absolutely wonderful from the food to the hospitality, everything exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed every corner of the property, and despite the constant rain, the weather added to the charm. The cold, cozy atmosphere at the edge of the hill, with misty winds wrapping around the property like a blanket, made it a truly special experience.

All the activities were fantastic and kept our parents and our 3 year old thoroughly entertained. It was a fun-filled getaway, and we’re already looking forward to coming back during spring time to enjoy it even more. This place never gets old for us. That said, we did feel the games room (fight room) could use a bit of improvement. It would have been great to have indoor games organized by age groups, with complete sets in place. Most of the games were scattered, making it a bit tricky to keep our daughter entertained indoors.

Eventually, we chose to spend more time outdoors, where we enjoyed basketball and football together. Overall the stay was just super amazing for us. A special mention to the staff and management for their kindness and warm hospitality made our stay all the more comfortable and memorable.

We Didn’t Just Visit Destiny — We Exhaled There
So we were looking for a place to relax and escape the regular humdrum of Bangalore life. We didn’t want to research too much about where to stay or what activities to do, so we decided to go with a trusted name—the parent chain of our favourite resort Mangifera, owned by The Little Earth Group. That’s how we found Destiny - The Farm Resort, and it turned out to be exactly what we needed. Arriving at the resort and being greeted by the warm sun softened by the crisp Ooty air was rejuvenating in itself. A complimentary room upgrade from the Destiny team was a delightful surprise. I even tried horse riding and was pleasantly surprised to learn that Everest, my ride companion, was not only from Bangalore but also a gem from the Bangalore Race Course! The experience only got better with a lovely herbal tea session hosted by the charming Ainul, master of the tea ceremony. The variety of fresh herbs brewed into soothing teas is a tradition we carried back with us to Bangalore. We also indulged in some momos (available for purchase) and enjoyed complimentary bhajjis—a perfect pairing for the chilly Ooty weather. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking and genuinely evokes a Swiss-like feel while being right here in India. The view of Avalanche Lake from the resort is simply unforgettable. Dinner that evening was another highlight. The salads from their garden were exceptionally fresh. Chef Kumar Vel personally checked in on us, and we were touched by the warmth and effort put into the delicious spread. The only effort we had to make was eating! After dinner, we sat by the bonfire, warming our hands and feet while being entertained by two needy cats looking for scraps and affection. The clear starry sky made our post-dinner walk magical. Our room was cozy and super comfortable. The weather was so cool it tricked our brains into thinking the AC was on! We slept like babies.

The next morning, I joined a hilltop trek led by the farm’s naturalist Sugali, who was excellent at guiding the group. The view from the top was worth every step and balanced out the indulgence from the night before. Breakfast after the trek was something I eagerly anticipated, and it didn’t disappoint. The made-to-order masala omelettes were delicious, and the yogurt (from the farm’s own cows) was rich and creamy. Everything from sausages and farm-grown potatoes to cakes and South Indian staples hit the mark. I only wish I had a bigger appetite! We then opted for the agri-tour, where we explored the fragrant herbs we had become fans of, and strolled through strawberry, carrot, radish, rhubarb, and cabbage farms. Later, we relaxed by the fishing pond, watching the sheep bleat around and the ducks strut like funny lPost-lunch, we indulged in foot massages at the farm’s spa, which overlooks the majestic Avalanche Lake. It was healing for both the body and the mind. Vishnu and Ambika, our massage therapists, were excellent. We then soaked in the serenity at the tree-top sit-outs, letting the Nilgiri breeze serenade us. A warm herbal tea afterward was just what we needed to cozy ourselves. Dinner that evening was a bit more chaotic as the kitchen dealt with unexpected guest walk-ins. The buffet had been foregone due to low initial bookings, and the team had to quickly adapt to à la carte service. What truly stood out was how the staff still managed to greet guests warmly, check in on orders, and deliver delicious meals despite the rush. It spoke volumes about the professionalism and heart of the team. Rain greeted us the next morning, so we skipped the trek and made plans to come back for it in future visits. Breakfast was once again hearty and satisfying. I also picked up herbal products and decorative items from the resort’s store. Bhadra helped me select the freshest veggies and strawberries, and even added complimentary herbs we had come to love during our stay. The entire team was warm, welcoming, and made our stay truly memorable. As we journeyed back to Bangalore, I felt the difference between the weariness I had walked in with and the lightness I left with. The whole experience turned out just as we had hoped, and we can’t wait to return.ittle bullies. Time seemed to slow down, allowing us to truly unwind and breathe in the fresh mountain air. For lunch, I chose the chicken stroganoff with herbed rice—absolutely spot on. My husband had the steak, which was flavourful but a bit overdone for his taste. Chef noted it and promised to perfect it next time. The leek and potato soup was soul-warming, and I highly recommend all vegetarian dishes at Destiny as the farm-fresh ingredients and skilled chefs bring them to life beautifully.
